Genuine Sporting World

Editorial policy

Genuine Sporting World aims to make rural sport clearer and more interesting without overstating what an article can establish. We distinguish explanation from opinion, check factual claims against suitable sources and make room for correction when something is wrong.

Accuracy and context

We take care with names, terminology and descriptions of games. Claims should be supportable and presented with enough context to avoid turning a local custom into a universal rule. Where an article depends on a particular place, date or version of a game, that scope should be made clear.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial decisions are made separately from partnership arrangements. Any paid, sponsored or otherwise partner-supported material is identified clearly as such; a partner does not receive an unlabelled editorial endorsement. Partner placements are labelled so readers can distinguish them from our editorial work.

Corrections and illustrations

If you spot an error, contact us with the article and the detail in question. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when an illustration is synthetic, it should not be mistaken for documentary evidence of a real sporting place, event or object.
